Hospice

The Hospice module facilitates information management when health care providers serve clients in multiple settings, including those where network connectivity may not be available. Closely related to the Home Health module, Hospice can be combined or configured specifically for palliative care.

Part of the Epic integrated clinical information system, Hospice provides access to the patient's complete medical record using views and tools emphasizing hospice and palliative care services and interfaces to suit multiple contributing health disciplines. It runs on laptops without a network connection, synchronizing data when wireless or wired networking becomes available. A single patient story bridging the continuum of care leads to better-coordinated care.
