Chronicles (Epic)

Chronicles is Epic's real-time database enabling all care and support activities within the Epic clinical information system (CIS).

Based on InterSystem's Cache database management system, its hierarchical structure is optimized for rapid access, display and management of information about patients, events, episodes and encounters.

Epic's Reporting Workbench and Radar analytics tools provide views of real-time Chronicles data to support clinical and administrative decision-making. Because user-entered data is immediately available in Chronicles, these reporting tools are of most benefit to those requiring up-to-the-minute results.
