Adaptation

In the context of clinical system design, the term 'Adaptation' is used to refer to customization activities that start with clinical content (decision, documentation and/or inquiry supports) provided in the software vendor foundation build configured additions provided by the client.

Adaptation activities adjust tools with known performance characteristics and data dependencies, and so usually involve less customization and maintenance effort than entirely new developments.
